As one of my favourite native birds, the kookaburra was a natural choice for this series. Its unmistakable character has become deeply woven into Australia’s identity, serving as a reminder of the joy, resilience, and connection found within the natural world. By focusing on recognisable local species, the artwork encourages both locals and visitors to appreciate the remarkable wildlife that exists just beyond their doorstep.
